What color highlights? please help! :)?

I really want highlights or to do something with my hair but I don't know what would look good. I have dark dark brown hair, almost black. I have light skin, freckles, and green eyes. I guess I'd consider myself ';preppy'; or whatever so no like bright red pink or green or anything. Something at least semi natural. Is there really any color I could put in it or should I leave it as is? Thanks!What color highlights? please help! :)?
I think the constrast between your green eyes and dark dark hair sounds gorgeous!! I would leave it be, because highlights would detract from that.What color highlights? please help! :)?

The only difference is that I have bronzey hair, and it really looks nice with my eyes.


So, you could go with something like a red or a light brown.


Don't go with anything to blond, because sometimes with really dark hair, and really light highlights you can end up with what looks like straight up streaks and not like natural so be careful!
I am a licensed hairdresser for 20 years now, I would recommend a carmel color, this will bring out more color in-your face and it will not give you the washed out look. if you pull it thru a cap go about a medium pull so this will not scare you in the end.
i think anything too light would look tacky and kind of ghetto. i would stay natural or just do a few shades lighter underneath. i like solid color hair, i think it looks like very rich color when its all dark brown.
you could get your tips red. you would hve to bleach the hair that you want red, so it stands out more, but do something like this:

maybe dye parts of ur hair golden brown-yellowish, but i think sticking 2 ur natural hair color is the best. the dye that has bleach in it can damage ur hair.
Maybe you could take your hair to a lighter brown and add semi-blond highlights if all else fails burgundy highlights.
honey, beige, or caramel highlights. fine on the roots, a little bigger on the ends.
