i just got highlights, and i really like them but i don't want to keep up with the maintenance and get them touched up all the time. is there anyway that i can use the hair color remover to get rid of them?

You could have your hair colored back to the dark blonde color. Or you could leave the highlights, and after a month or two have them touched up, or add lowlights if you hair is getting too blonde.Hair color remover for highlighted hair?
most hair color remover removes ALL color not just those of your highlights it would remove all color.
