Should I dye the highlights out of my hair before getting it professionally colored (to a lighter color)?

I have medium brown hair, put in bad blonde highlights (they turned orange), and now I want to have it professionally colored to a dirty blonde? Should I go ahead and dye my hair back to medium brown first or will this even matter?Should I dye the highlights out of my hair before getting it professionally colored (to a lighter color)?
Absolutely not!!!!! Putting color on your hair will make it that much harder to go to a lighter shade at the salon. It is easier to color over a lighter color than to have to bleach out the darker dye and then dye your hair blonde. You can't lighten dyed hair with normal color, you have to bleach it out. Leave it alone and get your booty into the salon so they can survey the damage and get you the blonde color you want correctly.Should I dye the highlights out of my hair before getting it professionally colored (to a lighter color)?
Im a hair dresser and it very easy to do your self..1rst you have to get a demi color and put this on your hair its a filler...leave it on for 15min dont rinse out towle dry it. Then you will go ahead with the perm color to finsh the job .. The reason i said to use a demi color is it works as a filler and shall fill in all the highlight if you dont fill it your color you will do your hair wont cover proper..I hoped i helped you if you have any futher ??? im more then happy to answer them
