Getting the dark brown hair cut and highlighted...what color do you think would look best?

i want to lighten it up a bit for summer BUT not with those wack looking frosted blonde highlights....do you know if caramel would look good? and what about this cut..........are the side bangs out???

I like the cut, it's very versatile. I've had it myself. As for highlights, red or auburn is very hard to get rid of when you get tired of it. Believe me...it will always be in the undertone until you grow it out and cut it off. Go for several shades of Deep caramel and honey, these are more natural if you get it done with foil highlights. More than one color also prevents it from looking so fake or stark against dark brown hair.
I think you should go for the carmal highlights or maybe a strabary blond.
the cut is nice. go for an auburn/red highlights effect.
I like the cut, but what shape is your face?? I would go with lighter brown highlights!!
